Handmade, not hand-waved
Every game ships with care. We'd rather delay a release than push something out that doesn't feel right in the hand.
An independent game studio quietly working out of western North Carolina, building small, handcrafted games for the platforms we actually play on.
Nerdbucket is a tiny studio with a simple goal: make the kinds of games we'd want to play on our own phones and PCs. We favor tight, focused experiences over sprawling ones — games that respect your time, your attention, and your battery.
We're mechanics-first. A Nerdbucket game usually starts as a single idea — a gesture, a puzzle twist, a tiny loop that makes us smile — and grows only as far as that idea can carry it. No ten-hour tutorials, no dark-pattern meters, no "are you still there?" interrogations.
Every game ships with care. We'd rather delay a release than push something out that doesn't feel right in the hand.
No predatory monetization, no dark patterns, no manipulative push notifications. If it feels gross to us, we don't ship it.
If it stops being fun to make, it probably stopped being fun to play. We build things we look forward to opening.
Staying small keeps us honest. We don't chase trends — we chase the specific game in front of us until it's finished.
We love hearing from players, press, and fellow developers. For game support questions, the fastest path is our support page.
